Never go to AFC

This is a sincere, honest attempt to give you a clear picture of what happened to a couple at AFC.

PROBLEM :

Husband’s count was low and his wife’s reports were absolutely normal.

First visit to AFC :

The doctors(especially the only male doctor at AFC Dr.Manjunath) completely ruled out the possibility of improving the count. Husband was told that there is no medicine to improve the count be it in ayurveda, homoeopathy or allopathy. The only option given was icsi.

What happened later :

Husband somehow wanted to try a few medicines and to his luck the sperm quality improved slightly but far from being favourable for natural conception. So, the couple decided to go ahead with icsi.

Few good things first :

  1. The nursing staff was very caring, compassionate & sounded very optimistic to all the couples which served as a consolation.

  2. Hospital is located in a semi-residential area in the heart of South Bangalore which was convenient for commutation

The bitter experiences :

  1. The total cost of icsi went upto Rs.3 lakhs which is a huge rip-off compared to industry standards in 2009. Simultaneous AFC building construction and expansion could have prompted these exorbitant out-of-the-roof charges.

  2. Dr.Nirmala has very less time for individual attention. As long as you have the potential to become their success story, they talk sweet and nice to you. Husband was treated as if it is his blunder to be sub-fertile. FYI, he does not smoke/drink.

  3. Only wife was given clear instructions on date of ER, ET etc. Husband was completely kept at loss of information on his abstinence, dates etc.

  4. Most horrifying thing was...after the ET, wife wanted to use the restroom. To her shock, she found that they have forgotten the scissors right on her body. When she asked them about it, the reply was....you can use the restroom with the scissors, no problem.

  5. The female cashier is rude, impatient and looks like a money siphoning machine.

  6. The husband was made to run around to the nearest medical shop to get all the fluids and medicines during ET and ER.

  7. Dr.Nirmala was/is an ardent devotee of Swami Nityananda. Hope this says it all. When the first news/video about Ranjitha and Nityananda broke out in 2009, immediately Dr.Nirmala removed all the huge framed pictures and idols of Nityananda from the hospital. Makes business sense you see.

  8. Waiting area is cramped and everyone easily gets to know everybody’s problems. No privacy.

  9. Hospital has parking space only for doctors.

End result :

Wife was pregnant with twins for 5 weeks and the further development never happened. Had to force an abortion.

Sincere request :

Never ever go to AFC. Please do enough background work before you choose a doctor and a hospital. There are so many couples with no access to internet but would like to consult a doctor. Please pass on this honest review and experience to as many friends & family members as you can.
