This is Karan Johar’s most grown-up movie yet. He has come a long way from “Pyaar dosti hai, ”(Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) to “Pyaar mein junoon hai, par dosti mein sukoon hai”(ADHM). In the first half, there’s a getting-to-know-each-other arc which reminds you of Before Sunrise; theres also a slight Imtiaz Ali flavour lingering through the movie(strong female characters help a broken boy find himself). There’s no celebration of heartbreak; there’s no pausing-for-laughs, there are no convenient coincidences.Alizeh(Anushka Sharma) meets Ayaan(Ranbir Kapoor) at a pub in London and it takes just a few drinks for them to become friends. During a trip to Paris, Ayaan reveals that he is attracted to Alizeh but without wasting time, she friend-zones him.AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL’s music(Pritam) is already a superhit, and the songs manage to give an extraordinary feel to the story. Tracks like ‘Bulleya’ and the title track lifts up the tempo of the film to another level altogether - See more at: https://bollywoodhungama.com/movie/ae-dil-hai-mushkil/critic-review/#sthash.obk87USw.dpuf
