This karan johar directed movie is at best a one time watch affair. Reasons for this would be the fact that second half is kind of slow and boring, Aishwarya has done a good job but has nothing much to do, ending was weird.
This movie rides high on star performances.
Ranbir has done done a decent job but his comic timing in a few scenes looks unnatural.
He’s perfect when it comes to playing emotional scenes. This is his much better comeback after his disastrous performance in Tamasha.
Anushka Sharma is certainly enjoying the best time of her career. Her potrayal of Alizeh is hands down her career best performance. She is very good and her comic timing is bang on perfect. Her’s is the best written character in the movie.
Aishwarya Rai Bachan is looking very stunning in the movie. Her portrayal of Saba is decent however her role is very small in comparison to Ranbir and Anushka.
Among the tons of cameos in the movie Lisa Haydon’s cameo was a standout. She’s sure to make you laugh. Srk, Alia, Imran, Fawad provide the necessary support.
Music is the biggest highlight of this film and trust me you cannot walk out of the theatre without not liking atleast one song from the movie. Pritam deserves the best music director and ADHM deserves the best album of the year award. Channa Mereya is the best song from the album.
Apart from the boring second half, the other big problem of the movie is the fact that there is not a single standout scene in the movie. There are a few emotional scenes in the movie but they just don’t leave an impact.
This is Karan Johars one of the weakest work I would say.
So with all the good performances and music one can certainly watch this movie. It’s sums up for a decent one time watch.
