A movie with a difference, that?s what, is all the reviews and news about Azhagiya theeye, just thought will be a part of this talk of the town. After seeing it, felt it is worth the hype and appreciation. Full points to the entire team of Azhagiya Theeye for giving such a decent and superb movie, in this era of masala and formula films a soft entertainer was a great relief for the movie-goers who want a change which they had warmly welcomed.
The story involves four friends(Chandran, chittapa, murthy and puyal) trying to make a place for them in the film industry. Chandran(Prassana) is approached by Nandini(Navya Nair) to stop her marriage with Aravind(Prakash Raj) which is arranged by his father and brother against her wishes. Chandran plans to stop this marriage by telling Aravind that he and Nandini are in love for the past 5 years.
Aravind cancels his marriage with Nandhini and decides to unite both the lovers which was not expected by both of them. In order to keep up the plan they get into a wedlock, and whether they live together or not forms the rest of the story.
Outstanding performances by the entire team, PrakashRaj, Prasanna and Navya have done a good job. Prasanna?s acting was worth a watch during his interactions with Prakash raj, his facial expressions while delivering the dialogues are superb. Navya Nair a new face to Tamil cinema has done a good job, her large expressive eyes depicts the emotions suitably. Prakash Raj as usual was the best in his own style in a short and very good role.
The humorous and meaningful dialogues by Viji were good. Ramesh Vinayagam?s music was a plus point to the movie, melodious tunes to the songs and the background was appreciative, ?Vizhigalin arukinil vanam? was the best I have heard in the recent past penned by KaviVarman. Our MS reviewer Suresh Kumar has written a very good review about this Album. Last but not the least the debutant director Radha Mohan has done a good job in coordinating the performances of all.
The concept of the film ?Love can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime, it?s like a Bomb, BOOM?. The picturization of this BOOM sequence was equally good in the movie. On the whole its a family entertainer to be enjoyed by all as hardly you get to see movies like Azhagiya theeye.
