My 9 year old daughter was admitted @ AIIMS for an eye squint surgery, the process of getting through and up to the surgical stage was painstaking - Please note that she was operated upon the left eye and her right eye at that point of time was perfect.
The operation took just over half an hour and was conducted under the watchful eyes of the the renowned Dr.Sharma - Eye Specialist and Senor Consultant AIIMS.
She was asked to follow upon a few exercises which she did religiously however, after a lapse of 4 months since surgery her right eye began squinting and now am in a dilemma -Should I take her back to AIIMS, was there some kind of mistake or is it normal that the other eye suffers consequences due to its pair being operated upon? So many questions and finally I decided that its better off aishwaryasingh23ing a little more and see a more designated doctor who would personally give his/her time in regards to the same.
AIIMS is huge - 3rd largest in Asia for its expertise but, on the flip side many a case such as the one mentioned above is pretty normal as per their statement. In India this is the result you get SANS the monetary part - I hope and pray that things gets better as I see scores of people each day waiting outside the hospital in hope of getting treated for the better - Its a scary scenario out there!
