Dear Potential Air Deccan Traveller,
If ever u plan to travel in any of the Low Cost Airline- particularly Air Deccan, offer prayers to the Lord that the flight takes off in time. The fact is it does not in most cases as these airlines have a modest fleet and thus in most of the days the flights does not reach and u the passenger end up sitting in pre-boarding lounge--Yawning and seeing all the other flights taking of bang on time.
My experience with Air Deccan is one of total disbelief. On a trip recently form Bangalore to Chennai I have booked myself in the 8.50 PM flight, that was scheduled to reach Chennai at 9.50 PM. When I checked into the Airport, the staffers their said that its delayed and will depart at 10.50PM. Then, even at 10.30 no boarding call was made nor any further delay announcement was made. Passengers were left totally high and dry and I consider Air Deccan has one of the cheapest attitudes in the Airline Space. They have totally amateur people and never owe a proper explanation for delayed flights. Passengers are treated shoddily and DOES LOW COST MEAN LOWLY TREATMENT!!. Certainly not.
A flight to Bangalore to Chennai last just about 45mts. And for that passengers were forced to sit for 4hrs and in my case the flight took off at 12.50AM!!. A guy who wanted to catch a Malaysian Airlines in Chennai almost missed it that day.
Much appalling than the delay is the attitude of the people. First, they displayed wrong delay schedule..and then literally no announcements were made. The staff is rude and totally unaware of what customer service means.
My advice is don’t ever travel by Air Deccan, when u have very important business the same day.
Verdict: Air Deccan and other low cost Airlines never consider that the passengers time as a asset. Rather they treat u with utter disrespect as if u are travelling free. I for one is disgusted, frustrated and totally at loss to put into words my recent experience with Air Deccan.
