I didnt get to see this movie until it came out on video. The main reason I rented it is because I really enjoy Harrison Ford movies.
As I watched it, it quickly became an all time favorite movie for me. I loved it!
At that time, draft dodging Bill Clinton was President, and I remember thinking how wonderful it would be to have a heroic leader such as the man Harrison portrayed.
Air Force One is highjacked with the President and his family on it. Instead of getting into his escape pod, the President hides just before it is ejected. Able to move fairly freely through the plane, (evading terrorist guards) our hero intrepidly begins a one man assault to re-take the plane. Facing certain capture at every step, he successfully eludes the hi jackers until he has saved most of his staff. (I wont tell you how.)
It has been awhile since I have seen this movie, so some of the details are a little fuzzy for me. But I promise you it is full of thrills, tense moments heart wrenching emotions and heroism. Not to mention the traitor, of course.
In my opinion, this is one of Fords best movies. Just thinking about it makes me want to watch it again. I think I will go insert it into my vcr.
