Personally, I think all airlines should have ONLY business class on flights over 8 hours. Sitting in coach is the single worst thing, on a long haul flight.
I flew from Lax to Paris in coach. I was travelling with my husband, so I had the window and aisle seats assigned to us, hoping the middle seat would stay empty, so we could have a LITTLE more room. It worked...noone sat in the seat in between us, both directions.
So we did have a little more room to work with. Still, its very cramped and uncomfortable. I was having a little fight with the french woman in the seat behind me. I flipped the little Air France logo head protector (you know, that little piece of velcroed material that hangs on the back of your seat) over my seat because I didnt want to put my head on it, (who knows when the last time it was changed out). She flipped it back over, right onto my face! I flipped it back over, only to have her flip it back.
I finally stood up and gave her the evil eye, and ripped the velcro peice off and threw it on the floor. GAME OVER.
We did get menus to chose from a French and an American entree. The food left alot to be desired. Very bland and boring. I was very hungry, and it wasnt nearly enough. Good thing there were sandwiches in the galleys, later on during the flight.
The first movie was boring, so I attempted to sleep. Did I mention how much I hate coach class? I cant take it on a 45 mon flight from PHX to LAX....what makes me think I could take it for 11 and half hours?
NEVER again. Next time we fly overseas....were paying the extra to take business class. There was a french guy across the aisle from us, that must have been at least 64 and he was really crammed into his seat. I felt bad for him.
