Winter in India, and especially Delhi is a harrowing time for travellers. When I was supposed to fly to Delhi on Jan 1, I was worried. Our flight was supposed to be at 8:10, and when I enquired, they informed that it was on time. So we reach there early.
The Check-in procedure went smoothly. The flight took off on time, but I was more surprised to learn that it had taken off from Delhi on time despite foggy conditions. All other flights were late.
I was surprised by the plane as well. The seats were pretty comfortable, more so than Jet Air, and there was even more legroom, even in Economy class than Jet Air.
The breakfast was good enough. But we got delayed at Delhi...had to keep circling for about 45 minutes. But when time came to land, I was surprised the most, because there was a lot of fog, and very low visibility. When I talked with the flight attendant, I was informed that the plane was equipped with equipment which helps it to fly even in fog, and the pilots were trained to fly in near zero visibility. I was surprised.
The only improvements needed are in the flight attendants. Having middle-aged ladies doing that is not helpful. They are slow, and not good to look at. That is where Jet Air scores over Indian Airlines.
All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by both, the Plane, as well as the capabilities of the Airline.
