This is the travel on Dec-2006 to US from Bangalore.
I got a business trip to USA from my company for duration 2 months and to come back after , I don’t have any choice and ticket booked in AI.
My travel starts from Bangalore to Mumbai by Domestic and from Mumbai to Newark ( New Jersey) by Air India Bowing. This was my first trip to abroad so quite exited too . Bangalore departure was approx 4.30 am , i was told to come airport before 3 hrs to book my luggage to US directly.
It was Dec cold too exited also. I reached airport some 3+ hrs before and AI staffs did not care much as this is a daily routine work for then and then thrown my bags and suitcase to the moving ladder .. it was quite surprising for me. I spent so much money for the bags and trolley they didn’t have a small care . Then regular checking and waiting from 2 am to all the way till 4.30 am . after all the international flights , AI came it was early morning 5 am and seating room also with quite less people. I was felling sleepy and slowly I moved to the flight.
Then normal stuffs and good morning voice with artificial laugh pulled me to my seat and I started flying , after some 10-15 min little breakfast and reached Mumbai early morning. it was quite exited to sit on Intenation flight . really bowing is bowing , I was not not able to count how many people were there but seems all filled . a big Indian trip . it was quite exiting too. all the cabin staffs are good and polite compare to domestic . After some 9 hrs of travel I landed in Paris then headed towards US again . That waiting in Paris airport was boring , AI staffs did not allow the travelers to go out of the flight , nearly more than 2.5 hrs we all were in flight and reached my destination after some 23 hrs of whole journey.
Journey was too exited and staffs are very good
Food all are in Indian style , there is Lunch and dinner with drinks , One can enjoy the travel.
Some Indian friends can accompany you .
I am all the way satisfied.
*Return Journey:
It was again normal like Indian style and came to Mumbai .. the pathetic is from Mumbai to Bangalore after some 17 hrs journey and have to wait for some 4-5 hrs in Airport and in domestic a long queue too. All together my travel was good and reached home.
I got one more chance to fly again to US in Apr 2008 with British Airways via London . It was quite more exited , as I can have some time in London Airport. I started my travel and reached US with my family and still here .
*Pro and Cons:
I traveled both domestic and international of AI , seems International service is good and comparable . I am writing British Airways are bit lagging but the Air India service is good.
Food in AI is good as I am an Indian.
Service also good .. I feel more like Indian
Improvents are definitely required to match the international standard.
