...thats Oh My goodness. If at all I could have avoided flying with AI, I would have done so. But my employer made me fly with them, as if this was the best flight available. I must say, the experience was exactly as per my expectations i.e. grossly disappointing. To start with, the website AI has put up behaves weird. In one moment, you are allowed to check the flight status, but if you try something here and there and check the status again, its not visible.
Compare the AI website with some of the other websites like singapore airlines or qantas or emirates, you would know the difference. Anyways, coming to the series of misleading informations, what exactly does AI means when they say they have a direct flight from Delhi to Chicago ! There isnt any such thing because the flight did stop for considerable amount of time in Frankfurt and people did disembark there. Another experience was the one which I had recently when taking Delhi-london-chicago route.
The london-chicago connection was to be made with the flight which was to come from Mumbai which arrived 6 hours late in london. I had a horrible time waiting for more than 10 hrs in total at London airport which itself is not a good airport to be. When I visited the AI counter in heathrow, they informed me that flight would arrive late by 6 hrs as it had some technical problem in Mumbai itself. Then I asked them to put me in their lounge.
I was ready to pay for it but they informed me that its available only to Executive and business class. All they provided me with was a lunch coupon at 3:30 pm GMT. Was it lunch time for me. Do they have any brain cells left to think that people coming from india are in different time zones which is normally GMT+4:30 hrs. In-flight experience was worse. I couldnt imagine not having a menu-card in international carrier !!! Air-hostess was serving some soft-drinks and I asked her what all is available.
Instead of answering, she asked me what do I want. Anyway, I asked for a drink which she said shell get it for me. Despite of telling her not to mix the soft drink into the liquor, I was served a drink made to the choice of air-hostess. I couldnt have second sip of it. Imagine having liquor with diet-coke !!!! A strict no-no to anyone who wanna have a decent food or drink in this carrier. There are many more things to write, but I m done with it. A presto.
