Aircel, maybe good in your are but in my area, ie New Delhi, its one of the worst in almost all aspects whether it is network coverage, customer service or anything else. The plans are undoubtedly very tempting. But that old saying, ’Dont believe in anything that appears too good to be true." Their speeds on internet are just pathetic. On 3G,
I just get abt 0.7 Mbps and forget abt 2G man.(Less than 0.2 Mbps) I wud say sometimes their 3G is much slower than Airtel 2G. But the prices are definately attractive. Talking abt call quality, you wud often have complaint of muddy calls, and will often have to ask the other party to repeat. It get very irritating at times. The frequent call drop is another issue. At most places in Delhi I just get below 2 bars. So no doubt the network coverage is poor.
Now coming to the customer service, its the best in class. Such service you can get nowhere. If you hold lamp in your hand and roam out, it will be impossible for you to find such a customer service.(That all was a rant) I wish I cud say this abt this company but friends the reality is just opposite. The people sitting their are so dumb, first of all it takes a heck lot of time to connect to those people, and when they are on line either they will end the call without understanding your problem or if they listen they are so dumb that they’ll ask so many questions to you and at then end not understand anything.(Have experienced this thing thrice). So if yau are an aircel user and dont want to go to any other carrier just becoz you have your number distributed everywhere, so dont worry at all. You can now easily change your carrier with Mobile Number Portability(MNP). So I wud say get out of this dumb company and choose somethng else like Vodafone, Airtel.
Note: This is based on my experience in East Delhi. I have also had such experience in North and West Delhi. But it might be good in your are. So check with your neighbours or friends. Heard it’s good in Rajasthan and South India.
