The kids education system in Airport school, Ahmedabad especially nursery is very very bad. It seems that the thinking of management about nursery education system is still the old and outdated junk.
Managing children is not that much difficult. On the opening day, in most schools, the class will be decorated (with baloons, wall papers etc) and sweets (toffees) will be distributed for children. Instead in airport school the kids were packed in a class room and all the doors and windows where closed. The sound of the teacher shouting to the kids could be heard louder and louder through out the time. Such experiences will have a very negative impact on the development of the child. They are forcing the child to sit quietly in a seat. How long a kid of 3 years can sit in a single seat? Why we are calling them "kids"?
The next thing I want to tell is all about the forceful education of writing. A kid, psychologically will not be ready to write before 5 years. The kids will be ready to hold the pencil and draw closed figures after the age of 4 years. During this time they are ready to speak . Hence psychologists are telling that during this period tell them stories, allow kids to sing songs etc etc . Here in nursery, at the age of 3, kids are forced to write alphabets and numbers!!!!!!!!!!!. Great education!!!
I want to tell the teachers and management that getting a degree and telling that I am a teacher is of no use. At least understand what is going around, what are the new findings and methoods of education etc . I also request parents to go through all available sources to understand what is good and come out of 1970’s
