I bought a 4G dongle when a salesperson promised me 20Mbps and even showed it on his device. He sold me a Wi-Fi dongle with a post paid plan. He lied to me that prepaid doesn’t exist on 4G. I was made a fool by him.
After that my dongle started showing its true colours. There is no 4G coverage in Hyderabad. Airtel is fooling customers by saying that 4G is launched. My dongle never shows a 4G signal. It shows a green light indicating 3G. The speed is never more than 1.8Mbps.
On top of that I tried to activate smartbytes once when my usage was high but I didn’t get the benefit. I was billed for smartbytes and ended up getting 20Kbps only. They cheated me even in the bill.
I complained to Airtel and they sent an engineer to check signal strength. He was able to get 4G on his phone but not on my dongle. So he said its the dongle’s fault! That too within one month of purchase.
Now when Airtel has launched 4G only 1 month back and my number was activated only then do they need another proof that the dongle was purchased only one month back?
The salesman who sold me this dongle has vanished into thin air and isn’t answering my calls and Airtel isn’t willing to take back my Airtel branded dongle as the salesman didn’t give me a bill and I was under the impression that the dongle charges would be shown in my first month’s bill.
Airtel and their salesmen are experts in swindling the public. Stay away from them.
