I opted to go for this service after discovering none of wired broadband providers do provide service to our area. After getting the connection I found the speed really good till I was hit that 10G of data volume was consumed in just 4 days. It happened not just once, again and agin for another 2 months. When data limit was exhausted you will forced to recharge with some add-on packs and they too were consume in an unbelievable time. To add I had BSNL 3G, which made me compare how fast I am consuming my data. A 2G recharge in BSNL would last for about a week atleast, This clearly pointed fingers at how Airtel is measuring customer usage? Ado they count GSM ping packets also into download? Uploads are counted into usage?
Irked with this fast drain of my usage limit, I contacts Airtel CC, after 2-3 calls the explanation I got was due to 4G you consume more data!, because you download faster you download more!. I have used internet in developed countries for many many years at speed of 12mbps, never my monthly usage crossed 100GB, if I go by Airtel usage report I should consume more that 500GB/month. I really don’t believe and don’t trust the way Airtel is measuring usage. It is a scam. To add I never got or found an explanation how Airtel measures your usage!.
