When I was in salem, tn my friends and I had opted for the 256kbps unlimited broadband option. After nearly 4 years of airtel @ almost 13+ GBs/month worth non-stop download, I have virtually nothing to complain about anything at all.
Since we were bachelors, we had to make a security deposit of 3k. There was a verification visit the next day and connections were setup the day after. We set the airtel router as our dhcp server and it was online 24/7 since the first day till the connection was terminated 4 years later as I our college got over..
The connection must have went down a maximum of 3 times in 4 years. Thats all. Customer care calls get connected quickly and if its a server problem it gets resolved within the time they promise.
If its not an issue on their side, they sent a rep the same day. When a rep came to our place he directly went to the router and did something so quick that we couldnt see it.
Another time they came, they issue was the airtel service box downstairs. Both the times, the rep came, the maximum time they took was 5 minutes. Connection plan change and termination took us only 15 days after the request letter was submitted. I dont know if this time has been reduced now or is different across states.
On returning the connection equipment our advance amount was returned by cheque within a week. Airtel offers excellent value for money.
I took all this for granted until I had a terrible experience with tata indicom in bangalore and that too for just two months. I know tata indiacom is already notorious for its service quality but still Ill be reviewing on that soon.
