Declining Speeds and Service

Everybody feels nostalgic when he/she recalls old memories like there was a time when we had to wait for 5 years to get a landline phone but it’s nice to just think about it. I don’t think anybody would like to go back to that era. Airtel broadband by virtue of it’s broadband speeds and poor customer service has taken me back to 1999 -2000 era of poor internet connectivity. That time we use to have MTNL dial up internet connections offering speeds upto 26 kbps but I remember still we were able to load website pages in a minute or so. I seriously doubt, Airtel broadband is providing even that level of speed after FUP. I understand the number of devices have also increased but still I don’t understand is it viable to take 15-20 minutes to load a website and that too the browser gives up and gives an error the page is unresponsive. I tried different websites but result is same. I recommend Airtel should rename it’s brand from Airtel broadband to Airtel dial up internet solutions. Sounds Jazzy isn’t it? Even their customer service is now adamant and rude. I would prefer decent browsing speeds post FUP instead of asking for 100 GB free data which some new companies are offering. Airtel Broadband blackmail customers who wish to opt for just fixed line services only and take broadband services from other internet operators by offering very expensive fixed line tariff plans starting Rs. 699 onward. I know the reason is that they fear that they might loose huge subscriber base of broadband if they offer reasonable tariff plans for fixed line only service and they also think people will also stick to your broadband service by this blackmailing technique. These days everyone has a mobile phone and nobody cares for a fixed line service. I know Airtel is a 230 million strong subscriber base company but still I would advice them ask their team to be innovative and customer friendly. They shouldn’t become like a government organization. Nokia and Samsung are examples who were market leaders and use to be adamant and you know the results. Nokia was been wiped off and Samsung is on the path of soon becoming a history.
