My Cousin who had appiled for the connection was conned for 3K Rs. He called up Justdial to check for the airtel broadband number, then after some time he got call on his cell from guy saying he wants to meet up for explaining the plans. Then he came over to my cousin’s house and got the forms filled up. Also collected 999x3 months =~3K as advance monthly rental. He had all the original forms from airtel.
After 4-5 days when there was no further communication from Airtel, we tried calling this guy and his phone is switched off. When approached airtel customer care with the acknowledge form for the advance paid, these people are not responding properly, they just say they will look into the matter and they never call back.
its been 3 months now there is no response for the complaint raised. Its very sad to see that a leading telecom company has no control over their applications forms. Where anybody can get hold of these forms and act as sales guys and cheat people. So if you are applying for a connection make sure you cross check the sales persons credentials
