Airtel going through a cash crisis? My entire prepaid balance suddenly got wiped out. Again! In fact, this is what theyve been doing to my poor little talktime balance ever since I subscribed to their GPRS plan. They just disrespectfully, summarily wipe out the little fellow like it never existed. The last time it happened, I was told that they will restore it ‘as a goodwill gesture’!
And now, poof, it’s gone again. Called customer care: after trying various menus and sub-menus, finally reached the cleverly obscured sub-menu where they let you dial 9 to speak to a customer care executive. That’s when the IVR says “sms airtel to 121”. End of matter. No ‘transferring to executive’. The sms loop is exactly the same as the IVR loop. And, they don’t respond or even acknowledge emails either. Now darlings, they shouldnt have tempted me, dont you think? I will recover my money one way or another. I happen to have a post-paid connection with an antediluvian address. I might just run up a huge bill and forget to extend any ‘goodwill gestures’ to them.
I wish they would hire better strategists. It is silly to approach a cash crisis by cheating customers of petty cash. This is not how a business raises working capital.
