Airtel Billing - Careful

I’ve been an airtel broadband user for over 4 years now. All the while I had ECS activated for billing. But this month I wanted to review my plan and I discovered to my shock that they had activated a Airtel website building service without even informing me and have been billing me Rs. 250 extra every month for the last 2.5 years. What’s worse when I looked at the bill I couldn’t even find it out because it was mentioned under a head called "DSL Usage charge".


When I called up the customer care they confirmed to me that this is actually a charge for airtel website builder service which I’m not only totally unaware of but also have never used. They also confirmed to me that it was activated without my consent. In all when I calculated, they’ve charged me Rs. 9000 so far in excess billing.


I’m left wondering how one is supposed to trust their wallet and other payment programs when such malpractices are so rampant. Such incidents only dent the brand airtel. I’ll never trust my money with these people. Also, I’ll ensure that such malpractices are highlighted everywhere on the internet and people made aware of it.


I’ll have my money refunded, even if that means going to consumer court. These people should not be allowed to have a free run like this.
