I have used Omantel broadband(Muscat), BSNL broadband in Bangalore, before moving to Airtel the best available so far. Happened to witness my relatives going through regular troubles with Reliance, Tataindicom, Sifi etc.
BSNL, I had regular issues from the local line. Line in charge was mostly ignorant about the issues, thereby redirecting my complaints to almost all the telephone regions in the city. It had come to a stage I had to explain my issue to almost 15 different landline numbers(none toll free), but sadly not finding the solution. So, thats my reason to quit BSNL service. Good bye to troubles!
Airtel broadband gave me landline phone as a free package. I also get Rs.200/- worth calls free per month. My monthly bill comes to Rs.800-900 range whereas I used to shell out over Rs.1300/- on the BSNL pack with guranteed troubles every week.
I know majority of my friends stick to Airtel, as long as they are able to reside in an area where they have coverage. I would recommend Airtel to anyone without a second thought.
I upgraded my modem to Beetel 450 BXI ADSL2+Router in January 2009. Its a wifi modem with 4 ethernet ports behind, meaning 4 seperate Computers can be plugged in. On the wi-fi, above 5 wi-fi enabled products are supported. I use my laptop in the living room for browsing, chatting etc. over the wi-fi. Its highly recommended for people with a desktop and laptop in the house, they can move around the house and be online sitting wherever they feel comfortable. I enjoy this feature.
