After you have used an unlimited broadband plan and for any reason, such as a temporary break you need reactivation the Airtel sales person immediately arrives to sweet talk you into accepting a limited plan that turns out to be a rip off for you and a money making scam for Airtel. The sales chap will offer a limited plan prepaid for 5 months and a "free" 6th month, and make the upper limit of 6 GB free at higher speeds sound as if it is the same thing that you were using earlier and no additional cost to you.
Once you have fallen for this spiel, the activation will take place very fast and the prepaid bill of a few thousand appears post haste! Very soon you realise that the 6 GB usage gets over in a week despite the fact that your internet usage is the same as it was in the unlimited plan- then a notice comes to you on line that hereafter you will be charged 0.20 paise(only the sales chap says) for each MB you use.Now comes the twisting of the knife into you- every internet page that you deliberately or willy- nilly access adds to your usage and I am certain that the meter or whatever device Airtel uses to total your usage is rigged to make huge internet usage by you in that month. Calculated @ 0.20 p, the many GBs that Airtel says you have used( and you have no way of this being correct) produces a bill that is at least twice what you were paying in the unlimited plan- there is no speed advantage in any case. So you know that you have been had. Your calls to that sales chap and later to customtakeouter support and 121 produce no answers and all the while your bill goes on inflating or you stop your internet access!! Unless you decide to take pro-active steps all your pleas to Airtel for this unfair plan and exhorbitant bills get no results. This thing happened to me and I had to stop Airtel Service after two months though I had prepaid for 6 months.
I refused to pay their pending bills for broadband over-usage because they already had my money paid up for 6 months. Now they threaten recovery by legal means- this is the height of looting the customtakeouter.I have however kept all records of e mails exchanged with Airtel and can produce evidence that Airtel offers limited plans that are not only unfair but a means of cheating and then obfuscating- no less than a dozen Airtel people have been in touch with me and have offered no plausible explanation. We need to keep all hard evidence when dealing with the likes of Airtel.
So I say again DO NOT ACCEPT AIRTEL LIMITED BROADBAND PLANS and if you feel for my plight and the way I have been cheated boycott Airtel and go for an ISP that will not cheat as blatantly as Airtel
