I wanted a broadband at home in Pune and I was approached by AirTel Sales person (some Dhirendra). I specifically asked him if I get a static IP or not. He was unable to answer this (as well as many of my other questions) and hence contacted his superior (Ashvin Soni). I talked to Mr.Soni and he promised that I will be given a static IP. Finally I decided to go for it.
To my surprise when the technician came to install, he said that AirTel doesnt provide static IP to residential customers and I am promosed something that is out of AirTel policy and I will have to live with a dynamic IP.
I have now asked them to disconnect the broadband.
I am surprise to see this kind of practice in a company like AirTel. Sales people promise anything to achieve their target! I am trying to contact the sales person Dhirendra but he is not picking up his phone :-). What a professional attitude.
