Incorrect broadband bill

I have been using Airtel broadband for a year now. Bandwidth of 256 Kbps. This month I have received a bill of Rs 3063 for broadband usage. And out of those Rs 3063, Rs 1578 have been charged in a single day and for around 4 hrs. At the specified time I was not at home but was at my work place and my system was not on.

When I called up customer care, they say they can’t help, as the line is very secure and no one else can use it in my absence and I will have to pay the bill.

when I talked to people regarding this they also had almost same kind of complaints about airtel and various other service providers.

Is there anything I can do about this? Is there a legal way out? And how can I prove that my computer was off at the specified time.
