Around three months back I brought an LG LCD HDTV with which Airtel Digital TV (HD) was bundled. It comes with a economy pack that is free for 75 days. Installation was done within 1 week and went smoothly.
Most of the English News and Entertainment channels are not included in this pack so I topped up via their website and added some more channel packs - including English News Plus (at Rs.35 pm) which has BBC, CNN, NDTV Profit, ETNOW, CNBC TV18.
This was done on 27-Aug-2010 AND SO FAR I have not been able to see these channels working...EVEN THOUGH Airtel deducts Rs.35 pm for these. I have called their Customer Service many times and reported the matter but they say it will be fixed and so the story goes.
Also they promised that there will be more HD channels in 1-2 months but still it has only 1 HD Channel.
When I asked their Customer service, that I am not satisfied with the product and since there are better options available in the market, why shouldn’t they refund my money so that I can pick some other provider...they say that they do not refund anything.
This is clearly deficiency of service (deducting money but not providing service). Now I am going to consumer court to set matters right..
