Fooling customers and worst customer service

We called Airtel Dish TV customer care to provide the details on upgrading our setup from SD to HD+. Customer representative asked for our customer Id, pulled up our info and provide us the below details-

  1. Recharge our account with RS.999(849+150) 849 for upgrade and 150 for installation. 2. 1 month free HD channels will be provided.

  2. Cash back of RS.400 will be credited to our account.

After hearing the offers, we decide to upgrade our setup box to HD+. So called the customer care after a couple of days and requested for upgrade and recharged our account with RS.999. Airtel technician came by and completed the installation upgrade in the next days.


After two days we called the customer care again asking for the cash back that was promised initially. Now there putting forth new terms and conditions and misleading us by saying that the cash back offer is not applicable to you.


Even though when we called the customer care on 6th Nov those conditions were not informed to us. Hence we asked them to review the call recording and provide us our cash back. Even after multiple chase ups they are still reluctant on the cash back.


Since they were highly misleading us in getting our setup box upgraded to HD+, we asked them to degrade our connection back to SD setup box and refund our money paid for upgrade. They are reluctant to do that too.


Finally the customer care representative are very rude when we call them for solution. They are literally saying not to waste their time. Aren’t customer care’s paid to listen and address consumer issues?


We have even filed a complaint with National Consumer Helpline.
