Airtel DTH Customers - Wakeup call. This is to make people aware of Airtel DTH service. Im an Airtel DTH customer and I have subscription for ESPN, Start Cricket and Star Sports. Today I received SMS that these channels are removed from my subscription and instead two other channels are added. If I want to continue with ESPN, Start Cricket and Star Sports I have to shell out more money. My concern is that tomorrow they may do this with all other channels.
This all started with INDIA-ENGLAND cricket series. One day before the start of first test match, my connection for these channels (ESPN and Star Cricket) was removed, these channels were showing the cricket series. The message was that I need to pay more for viewing these channels. When I called for clarification from customer support I was told that there was an error and they will restart the service in 24 hours. They restored the service. Now they have adopted another method to harass us all.
My question is that when I have subscribed for a particular set of channels, on what bassis they can remove the channels? And if they are removing the channels they should reduce the subscription amount to compensate. Also they need to explain the basis why this is being done? If they are packaging channels differently now, they should do that with new customers.
Please spread this message across so that all Airtel DTH customers can raise their voice and make it heard that we customers cannot any taken for granted.
The Airtel DTH has channel 100 for advertisement. I have noticed that every, mutiple time the set top box gets reset and turns on at channel 100.
