I am fed up of Airtel

Do I need to rate the customer service at all?


I am a’loyal’ customer of airtel since 2000 and 7yrs devoted to them doesnt make the slightest difference to them. I am sick of the people they employ as CSA(Customer Serv Advisors).


The problem started when I had to come to UK on a long term contract and I had taken my number from airtel as a special number which matches my DOB. Now I had to retain this number also.


Called up C. care: This is what thye had to tell me after a paper count of 15 calls and total hours devoted was 9.5hrs(extended to 6working days)

  1. Sorry Madam, we dont have any means where we can retain this number

  2. I dont know how to do it

  3. I will get back to you after talking to my manager(the get back call never came, 10months now)

  4. One CC didnt even understand what was I talking about.

Finally, I had to ask them, "What did I have to do incase I was dead and someone from my family also didnt use this number but had to keep it working in order to still recieve calls". Finally, one sardaarji had the idea - "pay your bill annually in one go"


Wow! My billing was annual, I told him. So he said, pay the next yrs bill and switch it off when u leave India.


Well, the sardarjis idea worked.:-)


Now, I need to stop my paper bills coz my family is also moving to UK. I had requested them time and again this time I visited India, and each time they asked me to send the request to their toll free number 656 or something, which is not even tested properly. Sending the request to stop ppr bill is ok, and the response from the server prompt. But nothing happens. The bills continue coming.


I have mailed customer care 5times from here, not to mention the fact that the calls to CC dont reach India from the UK, and no response.


I am so fed up, tired, and angry that I dont have words to speak.


Just want to do some’small’ international calls on Airtel roaming, and then I think the CC and Airtel will look after me well, and then I can make complaints. Thats the only option!
