Hi friends-
I?m writing this review on Airtel landline phone. First of all I would like to share a story about how I got this connection installed in my house. If you are curious to know my story then read on. Otherwise you may ignore the first paragraph and read the second para(info abt the connection only). I have given u the option, now please don?t break my heart by commenting that ?we are not interested in ur story?
We previously had a MTNL landline connection. I used 2 surf Internet for at least 10-15 mins (not more than that) everyday to check mails and browse one or to sites. I was using MTNL dial up connection for this. But recently my surfing had increased substantially to 40-45 mins (again not more than that) everyday, thanx to MS(reading, rating, commenting on revus). But this was not possible with MTNL connection.
It use to disconnect very frequently i.e. after 3-4 mins, also the speed was very slow (ranging from 19400 kb ? 28800 kbs ? mostly around the former level). So surfing for 45 min was impossible using mtnl, b?coz it would disconnect for at least 10 times in that period. My telephone bill also started rising. My father couldn?t understand why suddenly the bill was showing an upward trend. I couldn?t say to him that I write reviews, rate other people?s, and comment on them. He would have killed me had I disclosed this to him.
As I was becoming mad because of frequent disconnection of mtnl and also opting for a broadband connection was out of contention, I suggested to him that we should change the connection. My mother didn?t like the idea, as she thought that only Govt people are reliable and Private companies like Airtel and Tata would rob people by overcharging. So we didn?t disconnect the mtnl connection (in case airtel or tata overcharge?.).
Now we had only two options Touchtel (now Airtel) and Tata indicom. But somebody had warned my mother against Indicom (that they overcharge). So the only option available was Airtel land line connection.
We needed to pay 700 Rs (now waived) as security deposit, which would be refunded after one year and extra 700 for installation (now they have waived this charge also). Now they are offering connections @ Re1. Isn?t that great? We opted for Rs 499 plan, under which we can make 450 free calls (pulses).
Call charges: Upto 450 calls err?. Pulses ? Free
Above 450 calls- Rs 1.10 rupees
Std rates- Rs 2.20\minute flat rate.
PULSES:
Airtel to any land line (not WLL)- 180 seconds
Mobile & Wireless loop phones -90 secs.
Benefits: Free call waiting, voice mail, free STD and ISD security, Sms (80 paisa per sms to anywhere in India), and many more (I don?t remember).
Most important benefits
(1) internet dial up package ? free connection from mantra online (I.e. no service charge and only call charges), on the other hand mtnl charged RS 6 PER MINUTE for their poor service in addition to call charges.
Internet charges from 6:30 Am to night 10:30 pm-
1 pulse = 180 seconds
And and and from night 10:30 to morning 6:30 am-
1 pulse = 360 seconds i.e. 6 minutes.
So at night if one surfs for one hour he will be charged just 11 Rs. Isn?t that economical?
(2) PLUS ONE package- U can choose any three local numbers to which you can make unlimited free calls and one STD number to which you can make calls at Rs 1 per minute.
That is it. If you are planning to go for a new landline connection, then go for an Airtel connection. You will not regret this decision.
Please rate my review and if possible comment on it.Thank you.
