Yes, Its Magic !
I had written this review quite some time back and am now editing it..lots of schemes and promotional offers have come and gone and will keep coming in.
What I am most impressed with at present is that they have now a GPRS service available for their prepaid users at just INR 12/- per day which is almost INR360/- p.month .. less than the INR 399/- for their postpaid users..and you can opt to de-activate your GPRS service whenever you wish even after a day ! And it is unlimited download per day unlike the post-paid users who have a limit of 100 mb per month .. over and above that they have to pay INR 5/- per mb of downloads.
So that was your unique selling point for Airtel prepaid..Rejoice !
Another unique and useful feature is their Airtel Live wherein you can store and access your stocks and share prices with triggers live and streaming on your cell phones.. thats quite a boon in these times of stocks soaring and shooting on the bourses.
The newly launched pre-paid mobile service in Mumbai.
Launched with a lot of fan-fare and catching up since the schemes on offer are really a steal - if they do work out that is - unlike their billing which had a lot of teething problems - and severe lack of infrastructure when they launched here in Bombay.
They have managed to rope in Kareena Kapoor and Shahrukh Khan for their promos. But their pricing is their key USP.
The other unique feature is the built in full roaming facility at no extra cost.
SMS at Rs.1.50 per outgoing and incoming free. No roaming rentals and free voice mail and call wait/hold/divert.
Another unique feature is the 10 seconds recharge option which is as easy as dialing 10114 digit recharge number # OK and get going. No waiting for voice prompts.
Free Incoming from cell to cell and 0.29 for incoming from landline or WLL/CDMA/PSTN/MTNL/BSNL.
A new recharge coupon of Rs. 3306/- gives you one year validity and Rs.2995/- of talk time.
