Airtel 3G Dongle - It is easier to get a connection than to cancel it. The Airtel 3G service was cancelled on 10/11/2012 and I have an e mail dated 15/11/2012 to confirm that, but I received a bill on 12/12/2012. I wrote to 121@airtel on 13/12/2012 and called their customer service too, hoping that this was an error. But much to my surprise and chagrin I learnt that that the account was active. And when I asked them why, I got another shock because they said I activated it on 28/11/2012. So again I requested for cancellation and it was suspended on 18/12/2012.
I have written to 121@airtel and to the Nodal team but they have been of no help. One can clearly see that they have done no research because neither have told me how it was reactivated without my consent. I have sent them no e-mail or made no call, and declined every offer of converting to a pre-paid from their sales team.
I am now getting collection calls for the payment. The Nodal team had assured me that the amount will be waived when I first called them and then I received an e-mail which said I had to pay it. The Appellate team promised me today that it will be waived and said that they will have a manager call before 6:30pm but there was no call from anyone.
It is by the way impossible to talk to any concerned person or authority.
How can Airtel reactivate a service without written consent? What if someone gets a hold of my card and reactivates it? Apparently no security checks are necessary for this because I did not even speak to anyone who asked me if I want it to be reactivated.
