Airtel mobile is like fraud. Stay away from its service. I don’t know about others, but I have had the worst experience from Airtel. They do not provide call details--for that you have to pay another Rs 75 extra. It is like saying, I am charging you Rs. 3000 and if you want to know why, you have to provide another 1000. What gives? Does printing on paper and post cost so much? Is this a value-added service? Excuse me, but these are clear tell-tale signs of a company who is out there to exploit people. They are quick to point out that you can see your billing details on the internet, but again here, you don’t see call details. In this era, we can see high resolution satellite photographs of the parliament house in Delhi for free, how much would Airtel charge to put up call details on internet?
What about customer-service? Asked for roaming thrice. Did not get it. Alright, I decided to go with Tata Indicom Prepaid (which to my surprise, had free roaming from day one) because there would be no billing issues. I asked for disconnection of my Airtel mobile number in writing, they asked me to pay a said amount, and I paid it. I called up Airtel several times, they said the number would get disconnected, but I did not. I got fed up and wrote a legal notice, but got calls from Airtel why I wanted to discontinue when I could transfer the phone to someone else. I said I was not interested in their service. Again, I called up several times asking for termination of their services. I got billed for two additional months.
It has been over two months now and the mobile phone is still not disconnected. It only takes 15 minutes to get a connection, why all this hassle to get it disconnected? Why the billing?
Stay away from Airtel Mobile FRAUD company and keep your peace of mind. I have been slapped a ’’legal notice’’ for non-payment of bills for a mobile phone number that I had over 4 years ago. Now, I don’t have the receipts for the cash payments. I am looking for a lawyer.
