I was postpaid customer of airtel from last 2-3 years, (i dont know why ?)Despite of errors in billing.
Recently I changed my post paid connection to lifetime prepaid.
I gave application on 23-10-2008 at customer care centre and purchased new sim for lifetime prepaid.
I was told that within 4 working days my new connection get activated. I cleared all my outstanding of post paid on the same day.
As my connection didnt get activated after 5 working days, I went to same centre on 04-11-2008 they told me to clear outstanding once again. Since I have made just 1 outgoing call I was surprised!! Because I have already clear all outstandings! Anyway I cleared new outstanding.
They told me that my connection will start in 1 hour. But connection did not start.
Same promises are given to me on 07-11-08 and 08-11-08.
On 08-11-08 I visited second time, they told me that now it will start on monday 10-11-2008. Common answers like "system are down, servers are down" are repeatedly given.
On monday it didnt start I have to go to there and requested once again. After sitting one hour my connection starts.
But unhappy experience is still continue. After delayed activation I am unable to send message to anyone. I went to same center they changed message centre number, restart my handset number of times but things didnt worked. They told me to speak on hotline which kept on their counter. I tried so many times, the responses are in these sequence whenever I called them.
"** Sir please disconnect this call and call back again"
" Sir wait for 30 seconds I will come back with all information".
" After waiting for 1-2 minute there is no one to talk. And if by chance if there is someone, his/her response is-
4 " Sir right now my system is down I cant take your complaint. So please dial again."
I wrote all these to their nodal officer. He suggested to get duplicate sim. So i once again went to collect a duplicate sim card but, they refused to do that. They told me that my activation is on 6-11-2008 and my records are not updated yet. 15 days are required for this purpose. And they cant do anything.
Its my fault that activation was late..( I have submitted application on 23-10-2008) its my fault that after activation on 3-11-2008 my outgoing and incoming calls were barred and no balance and expiry date of service were displayed. Its my fault that after continuous 3 days visits to same center (costing me time & money) "Sir your phone will activate within 1 hour" was the answer. Its my fault that due to faulty sim card I cant send sms to anyone with effect from activation. Its my fault that Airtel systems are down, records are not updated.Airtel may have billions of customers. Loss of one customer may not cause Airtel much.
AND ITS MY FAULT THAT I CHOSE AIRTEL.
