Airtel customer service is not at all reliable. Here is a short story.I opted for a corporate plan for Airtel for Rs 199 and activated STD Pack of Rs 99.
Some days later, I made a request to deactivate it. Customar Care assured me that this would be done. After some months I again saw Rs 298 rent in my bill. ( I must admit that I didn’t check every month’s itemized bill before paying it...Airtel took advantage of this)
I called Airtel again to check the issue. Airtel apologized and assured again that the STD pack would be removed. This story repreated once more. This time I scolded them and threatened to escalate the matter. Cust Care didn’t escalate it however, they assured my in a nice polite manner that this woule be done.
As a fool I believed them and the story repeated again. I lodged a complaint in Airtel on 24 Dec 2007 ( Reference Number 14993660. I was given to understand today that Airtel had called me and explained that since there was no request made to cancel the pack, nothing can be done.
This shows that Airtel doesn’t care a bit about their customers............. This also shows that customer should not believe in assurances made by Airtel. They should ask for the service number.
This also shows that customer needs to be alert and should make sure to follow up. He should make sure to note down the Servce Request Number so that there shall be an evidence. Please do NOT Believe in their assurance.
Today again I have made a complaint after looking at the bill. Still Rs 298 is charged. I have made a request to cancel the STD pack. Also, I have requested them to escalate the call. Request Numbers are : 7541656, 883496675. I am not going to pay the current Bill unless my complaint is addressed.
