I never write a bad review for any service provider/Company. but airtel is ripping people of their money. I dont understand how a company which goes to the extent of coming home at 9:30pm to provide a new connection takes 2 months to provide for a disconnection. and the worst part is they even charge me after I ask them to disconnect.
I asked for a disconnect on 25th July. they said it will take 7 days and the next bill will be prorated. generally my billing is from 26th of each month. so they said they would charge me a prorated bill till 3rd of August for the next billing cycle and somebody will come to collect the equipment by 3rd Aug. I called back on 10th, 17th of august and 3rd of september. I even called a nodal officer who was rude enough to ask me to go and hand in the equipment myself at some office 20 kms away from my home.
now about the bill. my monthly bill is 699+ taxes - comes to 771. and some how prorated bill for 7 days was calculated to be 600 RS. When I called and asked they guy tried to bluff me out saying generally they charge the monthly rental for the entire month. and even though I never used the connection after 25th of july(the reason I know is because I had some other operator fix a new connection that same day) they charged me 100 Rs. for DSL charges. I told the guy that was not what I was told earlier and then he says he did not know about the billing details and would forward my complaint to the respective department and I would receive a call from them. they call me and take my complaint and tell me the issue will be resolved(no time line was given as to how long it will take). after about a couple of weeks when I call them back they say that they declined the request to waive of the charges. no body even intimated me. all I got was a stupid msg which said my issue had been resolved. I tried to talk to a manager. first time I called the manager is available only from 8:30am to 6:30 pm. I called back again in the evening at around 5. after putting me on hold for some time the guy comes back and tells me manager is busy and to call back later. I called back at 6. still same response. I told him that I was told the manager would be gone after 6:30 and he says. no no no. som e manager will be there all the time. I call back after half an hour and he says manager is gone and asks me to call again later. I went to a relationship centre directly. the relationship centre guys wouldnt even try to see wht the issue was. as soon as I say I have a complaint he shows me to a phone and says call this number.
I am very very disappointed at airtel customer service for doing this to me. and for anybody out there who value customer service. airtel is not the company you should be looking at.
