WOW ! ... this was the word on all of my friends tongues when we came out of the theater in the intermission...the reason Priyanka Chopra...OMG she looked absolutely stunning. She stole the show and if anyone is going to be benefited from this movie then it will be her. It has been the most impressive performance she has ever given. This was about Priyanka now lets talk about the movie ...
Till there has been cases where we hear a man molesting or sexually harassing a woman but here it is opposite. This movie is about a man who is sexually harassed by his lady boss and over that he is asked to resign the job on charge of sexual harassment. So that is what this movie is about. The Plot : So there is this guy Raj malhotra (Akshay Kumar) who is a engineer living alone in a flat. He is working in some cell phone company at some high position. He meets a girl Priya (Kareena) and fell in love with her ... LAFS aka Love at First Sight. He expresses his love for her and both get married. While most of the Indian films end here .... the main story starts from here...
Raj is expecting a promotion at the annual day celebrations of his company. His boss Ranjit Roy comes to the party and along with him comes a damsel Sonia (priyanka Chopra). No she is not his daughter but his wife Mrs Sonia Roy. With her comes some surprises. Ranjit Roy gave the chair of MD to his wife Sonia.
Raj is offered the post of board of director instead of a CEOs post which he was expecting. The cause of generosity ? of course Mrs. Sonia Roy. Why ? Because she fell head over heels on seeing dashing Raj. She was expecting some generosity from Raj too by having physical relationship with her. But Raj refuses to have anything except a boss and employee relationship.
So Raj manages to overlook all the temptations by Sonia until he had to go to Sonia’s house for some business formalities. Now Sonia gets the chance to woo him and tries to sexually exploit Raj but fails again. Next day Raj goes to office and find everyone eyes piercing him. He was called into the MD office. There Mr Ranjit accuse Raj to attempt rape on his wife and asks for his resignation. Evening Raj goes home and after a lot of hesitation decided to file a case against Mrs Roy.
Now the drama begins... first time we see a man embarrased in the court when he asked to show the marks of sexual assault on his body. After a lot of cross questioning Sonia’s lawyer manages to win the argument ... all Raj and party left the court in utter despair .... but something happened and they managed to get a tape recording the voices of Raj and Sonia on that day ...BTW not ol type ki someone left the recorder on ... new zamana(era) so naya(new) device ...a voice mail.
Ok so Raj and party get this cassette and did everything but on the D-day Raj’s lawer met an accident (courtsey Sonia and gang) and also lost the tape in process. How ? wahi koi vibhishan (some betrayer). The defeat was evident when Raj’s wife Priya who is also a lawyer decides to defend the case. So she did all the findings ... dig up things from the past and manages to save Raj. How ? That is for you to see ...
Music of the movie is given by Himesh Reshamiya and he has done an average job. lyrics by Samir are ordinary. Of all the songs ’’Aankhen Band Karke’’ is the best and can be heard many times during the movie. Rest are average.
Performances
This is Priyanka’s movie, a lot of things for her; be it the bikini scene or her scenes with Akshay. There was very little for Kareena, in fact she is in the background as all the movie is about Raj and Sonia. But If you are a fan of Kareena dont be disheartened there is some stuff u have at the end of the movie when she fights in the court. Though she is far from the Kareena of K3G. Akshaya has done a good job and looked very mature in the acting. Annu Kapur, Paresh Rawal and Amrish Puri are average and supports the movie well. Annu Kapur’s wife (earlier secretary cum maid) role is very cool and give you some moments of laughter in this serious movie.
Finally I would recommend this movie for one time watching. The thing to watch is the new plot and cast performance. There are some moments of laughter in the beginning which are enjoyable to watch. At last I would give this a three out of five.
PS: Some scenes are not suitable to watch with your parents/elders so ’’Close Your Eyes’’.
