Akkineni Nageswara Rao(ANR) is great in Telugu cinema.He is only actor who given tough competition to NTR.ANR born in 1925 in krishna district.He started his career in 1944 with "SitaramaJanam" in a female role, but he came into limelight in 1947 with "keelugurram" which was a block buster in those days.Then ’mugguru marateelu’ Balaraju’ etc make him super star.Then he started his success era in 1950’s even with Ardhangi" , his "Devadasu" movie created history in Telugu cinema where he became famous for drunken roles.Then ’vipranarayana’, ’missamm’, Santanam etc all are tremoundous hits.Then in 1957 his Mayabazar’ Tenali Rama krishna with NTR created histroy in Telugu cinema & till date the movie is evergreen.then his epic continous in 1960’s also.
Gundamma katha, Mugamanusulu, Srikrishna arjuna yuddam, Dr, Chakravarthy, Kalidasu, Jaya Bheri, Bakta Jayadeva etc all are block busters.Its common that if NTS’s movie is releasing then its must ANR ’s movie has to release at any cost.Both are talented actors.His success continues in early 1970’s also with Premanagar, Dasara Bullodu, Bhakta Tukaram etc all are smashing hits.Its in concern that NTR is famous for his Handsome & dialogues but ANR is famous for his acting skills.He acted with almost 60 heroines.He acted more than in 250 films, he got many rewards but he has huge fanmail who call him has NATA SAMRAT (king of telugu cinema).
But in late 70’s he faced lost of failures, then he managed his success with Premabhishekam, srivarimuchchatlu etc.
He is the first person who thoughts about seperate entity for Telugu cinema & seperated from Chennai to Hyderabad & constructed Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad which is one of the best in India.He never liked politics but a romour is there is supporter of Congress.
Govt of India presented Padmasri, Dadasaheb Palke awards etc.
He is very energetic in the 85 years of age..thats very great Long live ANR...
