It is indeed difficult to write about Akshay Kumar simply because from Bollywood point of view it is amazingly contradictory and amazing.
Let me explain. First of all, with due sensitivity to Akshay, it is very apparent that he is not a good actor. His range of emotions are very limited and has a almost flat voice. look wise, he does not have a romantic hero image, nor he is equipped with melodramatic or even comedy films. Yes, I know, he has done many comedy films, but he exactly is not a comedy hero the way, say Govinda is. Excepting action films, he has many limitations.
Plainly speaking I m not Akahay fan. I have not gone to see any of the movies to see Akshay.But still I m writing about him for one spectacular reason. He has defied bollywood and challenged the campism of the Industry.
He has been never a favorite of big names, like Yahraj, Subhash Dhai, RGV, Karan Johar etc.Still the chap is around for more then say 15 yers! With many "hits" at his credit!It appears very samll matter, but it is NOT. It requires tremendous guts and self-belief, despite the known limitatations, to survive and survive with style in Bollywood.
He works in relatively new or not-so-hot producers and still is there occupying place of proud in the industry. Even after 15 years, still he is in demand and is one of the most booked hero....
There is lesson to be learnt somewhere.....
