Down The Rabbit Hole

Lewis Carroll’s classics Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland is adapted into an animated film by Disney. The book is one of my all time favorites, and the movie held its own very well. I remember watching it as a little girl, before I read the books, and I found it very entertaining. But don’t think this movie is just for kids. It’s excellent for adults too!

The characters are taken right from the book, only having the characteristics of Disney characters. The animation is just beautiful, and it makes it feel like you’re moving along through Wonderland with Alice. You have to love the tea party scene with Ed Wynn as the Mad Hatter. Very amusing, and it’s just incredible how well they created the Hatter to look like Wynn, with the same mannerisms and facial expressions. Simply remarkable!

The movie was one of Disney’s earliest films, so it has that classic charm. One of the notable Disney aspects is the music. The catchy songs, and even the touching songs, such as the song Alice sings when she gets lost in the forest, adds to the brilliance of this film.

They kept the story true to the book, which I’m personally happy about. The most noticeable thing is how they portrayed the magic of Wonderland without making it too weird or freaky, especially for little kids. That makes the film more enjoyable and adds to its originality.
