We all have to wash clothes, so try this detergent

We all know that we must use washing powder to do our laundry with. And we all have our favorite brands in doing so. I am no exception! I have used most all of the washing powders available, like so many of you have and I to have my favorites. There are two of them, and I am going to write about one of them here. (If I am able to do so, I will write about the other one in a separate review!)

I have kids that get their clothes so filthy that sometimes I wonder if the stains will come out! (Don’t all parents wonder that from time to time!) And my husband will get his work uniforms so dirty that I want to just throw them at him and tell him to wash them his self.   But of course I don’t. I have been a wife and mother for over 20 years now and like I said above I have tried my share of washing powders and I have always gone back to two of them. You may be surprised to hear that I do not use any of those “name” brands that you pay higher prices for because they are who they are. Nope I use a brand that is well known, but some people are leery of trying because they are not one of those “other” brands or don’t “cost” an outrageous price.

“all”, with stain lifters, (this is the correct spelling all!) This is the one I use most! I love the all Fresh Rain Scent™ it leaves behind in our clothes.

The Box Size

The one that I buy is net wt 4lbs. 14 oz (2.21kg) 40 loads. The box is blue with yellow and white writing. And there are leaves on the front of the box, (over on the bottom right hand side.)

Directions

You should separate your clothes accordingly. Whites with whites, colors with colors and delicate with delicate, etc.

I wash all our clothes with cold water. However, all Fresh Rain Scent™ does recommend on the back of the box to wash white with whites in hot water, Permanent Press, Bright Colors and Delicates in warm water and Colors that Fade or Bleed in cold water.

Medium Load – use half a cup

Large Load – use ¾ cup

Heavy Soiled – used 1 cup

There is measuring scoop inside that you can use and it marked with the different levels with embedded lines. Some people have their own measuring cup that they use and that is okay as well. (I sometimes use the one that was my mothers!)

Ingredients

Cleaning agents (anionic and nonionic surfactants), water softeners (sodium alumino silicate and sodium carbonate), anti-redeposition agent, fabric whitener, perfume, washer protection agent (sodium silicate) and processing aids (sodium sulfate).

This “all” formula was made without phosphorus. The surfactants in “all” are biodegradable and safe for septic tanks.

As always I caution myself to you all to read the ingredients before buying the product to be sure you are not allergic to any of those ingredients. I cannot use some washing powders for that reason.

Caution

Contains sodium carbonate and sodium silicate. In case of eye contact rinse thoroughly with water. If swallowed, drink a glass of water or milk. Call a doctor. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN!

Laundry Hints

“How to lift out special problem stains: remove stain as soon as possible. If you cannot treat stain immediately, flush with cool water. Hot water can set some stains.” (I have to say here that sometimes when a stain occurs on our clothing that I will use a little bar soap to rub over the stain until I can get it washed.)

“Problem stains can be treated by: presoaking with 1 scoop filled (to normal line) per gallon of warm water in a sink or bucket or add 1 scoop (to large line) to warm water in washer. Let clothes soak for up to 30 minutes or for best results, overnight.

“Pre-treat: test garment for colorfast. Rub stain using a paste of “all” and water, launder as usual.”

“Colorfast Test: test for colorfastness by applying a paste of “all” and water to a hidden part of garment. Rinse and dry. Proceed if color is unchanged.” (This test can be used with all washing powders.)

“The package contains 40 uses however, that may vary somewhat with the size of the load, method of measurement and the settling during shipment.”

Also, “all” does come in a liquid and there are many sizes to choose from in both the liquid and the powder.

The Cost

I pay at my local Wal-Mart $3.88 for the size mentioned in this review. That’s right, I said $3.88. Prices may vary from store to store and also check for sales and coupons.

How I feel about “all”

I love it! I like the way that it cleans our clothes and the smell it leaves behind.

The all Fresh Rain Scent™ is very pleasant and is not heavy perfumed. Over the

years I have found that all Fresh Rain Scent™ has cleaned our clothes better than any other washing powder that I have tried. (with the exception of one other one that I use.)

So, the next time you are looking at the washing powders in your local store, trying to decide which one you would like to use at your home, consider getting this one all Fresh Rain Scent™.

I hope that this has helped in some kind of way.

God Bless!
