I have gone to dine at Amantran restaurant in Mulund a lot of times with my family. In this review, I would like to highlight the shortcomings of this restaurant. Amantran, ( from the interiors only) resembles a five star hotel. Well, kind of.
It has good ambience, the furniture, as well as crockery are quite good. Soothing music plays in the background as we eat, and there is a TV as well.
The toilet too is well maintained. The waiters are friendly. The food is of decent taste. But the major drawback of this hotel is the price and quantity of the food. I personally feel that the food is overpriced. And the quantity seems to have reduced each time we go there. For example, the last time we went there, the diameter of the roti seemed to have decreased by a whopping 2 centimetres!
Given the price of the food, such less quantity is totally not worth it. We are a family of four, and the Butter Chicken that we ordered, barely was enough for us. To give an example of the high price, we ran into a bill of more than Rs. 1, 200! Amantran is sure a good restaurant. It has a fish tank outside too, but very limited parking space ( enough for about only 6 to 7 cars) . If the prices were reduced, or if the quantity was increased to match the price, I would surely recommend it. Otherwise there are more options available all around Mumbai.
