Internet…e-shopping…e-travelling….these jargons really sound good and excellent but what do these internet jargons give you. In the era when content is king and the day when the some of the websites who made their mark in this big global world, were anything is possible and that too anywhere.
Amazon.com is one such website which has been the inspiration for 1000s of e-shopping website and showed what ecommerce is all about and give real direction to the word e-commerce. Previously people used to talk about ecommerce but no one knew what it actually is but used some great and very impressive jargon, like e-shopping, b2c etc.

Amazon started in the year 1995 as a premier online retailer selling books and music. They were the one who showed that they you don’t need to be a Brick & Mortar company to survive. With excellent channels of distribution and great customer friendly environment they created history and waves on the Internet era.
It may be doing financial loss at this stage but you can’t take anything away from this giant online store. Its as big as the great Amazon Valley...
Design …Scalability
Amazon has sticked to its International standard and has one of the most pleasing design with great and faster loading. Inspite of being so rich in content and with extensive information it loads pretty fast.
The colours used are in a proportionate manner, with using the colour of peace green for their books section and cream and please colour for their About Amazon section. The best part inspite of being a website which is so rich in diverse content, they have not used very loud colours which can be very irritating for a normal surfer. The loud colours should not irritate a consumer looking at the computer screen.
The fonts used are again keeping in mind with the international standard and they followed a great piece of consistency. Technically also the website has not given me any problem, their has been no errors like the page not found or http error. It can be very irritating!!!
CONTENT
Design and all is okay but the most important part is content and no one can beat Amazon, giving the consumer a wide variety of choice from books to music, e-greetings to electronics and computer games to dvd’s.
Books
King of website as far as the wide variety of books to choose. You name it and you got it. If you don’t find any book their, then simply write a email to them giving the details of the book and you have got that too. That’s what I call quick response.

This is my favourite part because everything goes wrong, if you don’t have proper customer service. For all you guys, Amazon’s web customer service is handled from India at Gurgoan, and the company handling the service is Daksh.com(Ex -Junglee.com is the founder of Daksh)
They do have impressive customer service, all your queries are answered within 18hrs. I had bought a book and I had problem with the delivery being in India it was delayed a little bit and the person from Amazon called me up all they way from US and apologised for the delay and sent me a latest CD as the consolation for the delay. Now what has Amazon got…CUSTOMER FOR LIFE. Next time I wouldn’t think of any other website and would stick to Amazon.com .
Overall, this is king of e-shopping website and definitely you can count on Amazon for all your Music, books needs.
