Pathetic customer service & refund policy.

Guys never buy Amazon third party seller.  I was interested in knowing Amazon refund policy as order placed by me on 16/08/14 for amazon 3 rd party seller  was not delivered by 27/08/14( the date promised while ordering) as promised. I had contacted amazon representative on 28/08/14 online I was told to contact seller & wait for 2 day as it was third party seller item.  I contacted seller, seller replied he regrets  delay & will expedite but no commitment on delivery date.


So I contacted Amazon online customer service representative on 30/08/14 as I wanted details of refund process instead of providing details Amazon representative started explaining I should wait for delivery what kind of customer service is this? I didn’t understand why Amazon rep was trying to protect sellers who are not delivering and asking customer like me  to wait? Only when I spoke about escalation matrix I was told I can initiate cancellation on 31/08/14 and a mail was sent to seller by Amazon for resolving this.


On 31/08/14 when I contacted Amazon over phone I was told in refund process Amazon will investigate transaction for another 5 days if during those 5 days if seller delivers the item I don’t get any refund. So seller get another 5 days for delivery. It was Birthday gift which is already delayed instead of helping customer who has paid upfront amazon is protecting seller who has not delivered on time & providing him extra time to deliver,  Had I been told about refund process on 28/08/14 I could have started refund now I have to wait another 5 days & once again go through pathetic customer service of Amazon & its 3rd party seller.


Further more when I wanted to talk with Supervisor of customer service representative to know why wasnt I give this information on 28/08/14 I was told that he/she is busy so can not reply.


Clearly here Amazon is protecting its errant seller at the expense of customers, I also wonder how come International company like Amazon can have customer service supervisor who hide behind the back of customer service representative who dont give the necessary information.


I have used eBay, homeshop18, flipkart no-where I had such pathetic experience of delayed delivery & seller protecting customer unfriendly service. Even on flipKart where I had to exchange item my transaction was done in less than 2 mins and replacement was delivered within 4 days. I regret using amazon. I still regret dealing with its customer service.


Finally after above unpleasant interaction with customer service my Order has been cancelled & amount refunded by Amazon on 31/08/14. Thanks that I don’t have to contact them again.
