I had made an oder in Amazon.com an item i-pearl cover Hard sheet that is used to cover the laptop.
During that time I didnt know that Amazon functions separately in different countries or amazon.com and .in are different
I wanted this product so I normally searched on the internet as usually I do. I logged in Amazon site, but it was .com, what ever it is but both of them are the same brand with headquarter based in United States.
I finally got the product so I made an order, I paid them from my Indian Bank Visa Card. At the time if payment itself they would have make me understand the difference between two then I would have logged in amazon.in where the product cost are expressed in Rs.
They did not inform instead charged my Card, and It was my brothers card so I paid him. For a product of 21$, with shipping charge I paid 72$0 and it amounts to 4200Rs in Indian currency.
I didn't receive the product nor received my message from them.
After one month I informed Amazon regarding the order I made. They denied,
Luckily I had made screen shot at the time of making order, so I send them the details.
They replied me saying that it was amazon.com so they can't refund me back in my Indian account .
I informed Amazon that operates in my country about this, they didn't gave a heed to my grievances.
For a student 4200Rs, matters a lot.
After writing them for several times, they said me that they would refund in the value of Amazon gift card.I accepted . They credited my amazon account gift card balance by 72$ but that account was America based Amazon account.
From that day till date the balance is still there in my account untouched, as I can't even use it.Amazon.com gift Card balance cannot be used in India while making an order.
From both the sides a customer is becoming a victim.
Whatever may be their professional ethics, but to solve the customer problem is the first and foremost duty of a shopping site.
Amazon and. In both the brand owner is same, profit goes to the same account then what is the problem in making the refund back in Indias Account. Amazon does not care about the needs of the customer.
I recommend strongly to my bonhomies, that before buying any product in amazon do check the site properly, you may also face the same problem which I faced. The screenshots of emails which I send that time is being attached over here.
So, just because of anticustomer refund policy of Amazon, I would give 1 out of 5 stars, and if there would have been an option to rate negative numbers also then I would definitely choose that one to. Rank Amazon.
