I recently opted for an Amex card and I was informed that it is accepted at Bharat Petroleum outlets for fuel payment.I was at one of the outlet and I asked if they accept it.I was informed that Amex card is not accepted.Later in the evening I went to one well known restaurant in the locality.There also they mentioned that they do not accept Amex card.
I called up customer care and they gave lot if reasons blah blah blah.With such a bad and pathetic experience I no longer want to use such a card which has no guarantee of being accepted at any specific merchants. I am happy using current cards that I have.Will be cancelling the card soon.
Very frustrated and card did not liveup the expectations.It becomes really embarrassing when you have been informed at merchant outlet that Amex card is not accepted and I was embarrassed twice same day!
