I’ll be honest, I don’t know too many details about slavery, but this one definitely took me by surprise.
The essential plot of this movie speaks to a group of Africans brought to the U.S. as slaves and are given a trial. The ship they were brought on was the Amistad.
The acting is pretty good, nothing outstanding, but one thing you take away from this movie is the American legal process at work for slaves at a time in which Blacks had no rights.
You’ll definitely learn something new after watching this one.
