Ampa mall located at the Nelson Manickam road is one of the city’s pride. Although it is smaller in size when compared to the Express avenue it is equivalent to the best malls of the city.
I had visited this mall on the new year day 01.01.2011 (nice way to start a year, huh!). It was crowdy and the escalators and elevators were doing overtime due to the crowd. The AC was even not working for a while. I didn’t regret visiting the mall as it was the new year day and it was over crowded.
The parking fee when compared to Express avenue is far less (weekends Rs25 for first hour and Rs.15 every hour later in Ampa and in Express avenue it is Rs.80 for first hour and 60 or 70 later for normal parking and premium parking at Express avenue starts at Rs.150/hour).
There are very good restaurants in this mall Hot chips, McDonald, Jus parathas etc. But you need to get a card loaded with the amount u want and then use it in each restaurant. Games and more is the section where u have the video and other fun games. It was fun for the kids.
You must get a card here too to play these games (Min:200 rs to get the card for the first time and then min recharge of Rs.100).
The general cleanliness of the mall and toilets were good. We shopped at the "Lilliputs" for the kids and the "Diva" has good collection of nice churidhars (Rs.800 to 6000). Overall the mall is good.
