I bought the Ampere Nexus ST variant ( ₹; 1.25 lakh) a month ago for my daily commute in City, and here’s my honest take after using it for 200 km. This electric scooter looks stylish and has some cool features, but it has its ups and downs.
What I Like:
The Nexus looks premium with its sleek design, LED lights, and Zanskar Aqua color that turns heads. The 7-inch touchscreen display is a big plus—navigation and call alerts work smoothly, and it feels modern. It?
System: The ride is zippy with three modes—Eco, City, and Power. I get about 80 km range in City mode ( 63 kmph) , which is decent for my 20 km daily commute. Charging takes 3.5 hours, so it’s convenient to charge overnight. The scooter feels stable on city roads, and the hill-hold feature is handy on slopes. The 24-litre boot is useful for small bags, though a full helmet doesn’t fit easily.
What Could Be Better:
The claimed 136 km range is misleading—real-world range is 60–80 km in City/Power modes, which isn’t enough for long trips. The suspension feels stiff on bumpy roads, and the rear drum brake is weak, making sudden stops tricky. The seat gets uncomfortable after 30 minutes. Also, Ampere’s customer service and dealer support have been slow, which is frustrating for maintenance.
