Save yourself from AMRI kolkata

I hope this review will help someone to avoid falling into the traps of the society’s scum who call themselves “doctor”! If you have a little bit of time in your hand avoid AMRI hospital. Be aware of the incompetent doctors like A.B.Roy, Rajashri Roy(A.B.Roy’s son and is equally worthless like his father), Susruta Bandyopadhyay, Kajal Ganguly and Rajan Sarkar.

In a panic stricken moment we had decided to take our loved one to AMRI SaltLake City, Kolkata as it was the nearest hospital from our place. Little did we realize that it was a place where “patients” are seen as a “money making scheme”. The entire staff of the hospital starting from the doorman, receptionist, doctors, nurse, floor administrator and every single person I have interacted with are simply an “asshole”. Sorry the dictionary does not provide me to describe it any better.

AMRI has a so called unit ICCU were the critical patients end up. Let me tell you that it is actually a death bed. In a brief period of time I realized that no one in the unit got better, thanks to the expertise of the doctors! Few of the doctors I interacted with were A.B Roy, Rajashri Roy, Susruta Bandyopadhyay, Kajal Ganguly and Rajan Sarkar. All of these people are pretty incompetent. The way things work in this hospital is straight forward. You admit a patient without any restriction, then try to find out how of the patient is worth in terms of money, apply random treatment/blood work and tests to cash out the maximum money possible.

Few things to note if you are unfortunate enough to visit the ICCU on 6th floor.

  1. Doctors, nurse, floor administrator and entire staff handles patient, food and medicine without wearing any gloves or mask! But the detailed breakdown bill you get will have a line item for a “box of gloves”. This is a basic sanity measure.

  2. Every single staff in this unit carries a cell phone. It is a well-known fact, that signals from phone interferes will dialysis machine, ventilators, monitors, defibrillators.

  3. None of the staff members bother to change into scrubs, which is required by any hospital standard.

  4. Staff members eat their lunch, have normal chit chat, use cell phones inside the unit as if the patients do not exist!

  5. Doctors have no respect for the patient or the patient-party involved. They make stark comments(like patient will not survive) blatantly in front of the patient as if he/she was an object. You, being on the other hand have two choice – expect a miracle, so that you take our loved one back to home/ to a better hospital or pray that he does not suffer any longer.

  6. There is no compassion as to how to treat a patient. I might also say that these illiterate doctors who got their so called medical degrees from R.G.Kar might not be able spell the word “compassion” itself!

  7. A stingy elevator is used by the patient and the general public to commute.

  8. “Silence” is an English word printed on a sign board which hangs on the wall but no one has a freaking clue what the hell it means.

  9. Patients do not have any privacy from each other and are separated from each other in approximately 4 feet distance. There are somewhat 17 beds stuffed in a room and they dare to call it ICCU. It’s a joke!

  10. Everybody is allowed to enter the ICCU without taking any extra precaution regarding sanitization. The hospital starting from the entrance – waiting lobby to ICCU can be aptly described as a “market place in India where you would find all kinds of characters”.

  11. The doctors make sure that the patients stay in the ICCU ward until they have completely exhausted the insurance claim.

  12. In my experience only “dead bodies” go out of the ICCU. Haven’t seen or heard anyone moved to a general ward or sent home. If you are one of the alive ones, you have been extremely lucky soul.

  13. One thing to note is that dead bodies go out through a different gate in the back of the hospital, where you would find broken pipes, dogs lying on the floor, people urinating! Guess what, you are dead, why do you deserve any better?

  14. The patients in the ICCU can see dead bodies going out which I think according to the hospital management boosts the morale of the recovering patients!

  15. When my loved one passed away, that day, 3 dead bodies came out of the ICCU! So that should give you a good perspective about the patient recovery rate.
