"The Amul campaign tells the stories of India, one hoarding at a time. This book celebrates the Amul girls journey through the eyes of prominent writers, public figures and the subjects of hoardings themselves, offering a potted history of the country over fifty years."
Amul, a brand which has now become part of our daily lives unlike any other brand, presents another delightful offering, now in the form of a book. The book displays various Amul advertisements, featuring the Amul girl, as it takes us through a journey of 50 years of India, right from when Amul first started. The Amul adverts, or memes, as they are now called, have always captured the attention of the masses right from when they were first published. The book is interspersed with the Amul hoardings amidst articles by prominent persons like Amitabh Bachchan, Rahul Dravid, Harsha Bhogle, to name a few.
The book provides an insight into the India that once was and its development through the ages, as depicted in the various topical Amul adverts along all these years.
The book was indeed a good read, and the adverts brought a smile to my face many times.
